Hey folks,
Just received a new All-in-1 board, got a new computer and fresh-installed Win7. No antivirus and Firewall disabled. After installing CNC11 and PLC program, when prompted to select network adapter there is only "NONE" option (i.e. no "Local area Connection").
It is Saturday, so no chance to call Ajax support for another day. Two questions:
1) Obviously, what to look for, and
2) Can I at least make all electric connection for now (i.e. connect limit switches, encoders, motors, etc.) and then take care of the software, or I should configure that part first?
Best, M

Re: All-in-1 communication problem
The primary Ethernet 100-base-T connector on the computer (and thus at least that one 'wired' network connection) is used exclusively to communicate to the AIODC board. It cannot be a shared connection, as far as I know.
Thus, if the AIODC is not connected and powered up, that network connection won't show as being available.
So; I'm presuming you haven't yet breadboarded all the electronics and electrics... you're still just configuring the computer half -- yes? no?

Re: All-in-1 communication problem
Lloyd,
Thank you for your reply. Yes, All-in-one, is powered up--I followed exact instructions in the manual. According to the manual it is done before the board being connected to all encoders, switches, and motors, so I was wondering if it is possible to connect everything and figure out the communication problem later.

Well, I don't wish to offend, but do you have the ethernet connection enabled? The system won't find it unless it is.

Re: All-in-1 communication problem
No offense taken . I am on Mac, so just overlooked that while the Ethernet worked on Os X it needed drivers on Win7 boot. Just pure stupidity on my side. Thanks.

You could, but that's not the greatest idea, because if IT does something stupid, it could damage your mill or lathe.
Much better to figure out that everything about the controller is working right before moving iron.
