Hello
I have an Allin1DC and an old RT170 rotary table laying around.

I purchased an DC1 to attach the 4th axis to the Allin1.

After all the wiring when I started the machine, I received the attached warning.

When I continue nothing works anymore. Can some one please guide me what settings I need to change.

I would appreciate any help.
Thanks

When the DC1 is attached, it claims the first axis in the drive chain and pushes all the other drives in the chain down one. Parameters 300-307 control this. Hit F1 to continue and the F1 Setup/F3Control/F3 Params to change them. Add 1 to the current value in P300, P301, and P302, then change P303=1.

Thanks for the quick reply. I changed the following parameters.

P300 1 to 2
P301 2 to 3
P302 3 to 4
P303 0 to 1

Normally when I start the machine, the machine goes to Z Home, then Y Home and then to X Home.

Now when I start the machine the X-Axis tries to move first, but stopped, and I receive the error: "U - Axis (which is the 4th axis) position error.
Do I need to change the Encoder wires as well?

Thanks

Post the contents of your CNCM.HOM file and a report from your machine.

@tblough Thanks for your help.

I added M26/W at the end of CNCM.HOM file and turned off the limit switches on the DC1. Rotary is working fine now.

I am working now on setting up the parameters of the rotary table. The attached parameters is which I have found in the manual of RT150.

Are my settings correct?
Which parameters do I need to change as well? Where do I add the encoder settings?
What's the best way to check the accuracy of the rotary?

Thanks for any guidance.

Encoder counts are entered F1 Setup/F3 Config/F2 Mach/F2 Motor There you enter the motor revs/deg in the motor revs/in column, and the encoder counts in the Encoder counts/rev column.

You can check the accuracy with a height gage. Jog the rotary table until one of the t-slots is horizontal and measure the height. Rotate the rotary table 360 degrees and check the height of the t-slot again. You should get the same reading. If not, adjust your motor revs/deg setting.

You can set the backlash the same way. Rotate the table until a t-slot is horizontal. Rotate 5 degrees minus, and then 5 degrees plus. Set a dial indicator on the t-slot and zero it. Rotate 5 degrees plus, and then rotate 5 degrees minus. Your DTI should read zero. If not, you'll need to trig out the degrees of backlash based on the DTI reading and the distance the indicator is from the rotary table center and enter that in the Lash Comp. column on the same table where you set the revs/degree and the encoder counts.

Posting a FRESH Report when asking for help is beneficial to us.

You never brought closure to this. Did you end up getting your 4th axis going?
