Correct. Oak needs to see that the ORIENT is complete before completing the tool change cycle.
When the spindle orient completes the ZERO Speed goes active.

Yeah, I already have a ZS wire from the old VFD. I will hook it up. My tool change is entirely custom as is not a standard tool change system so I will wait for oriented signal not ZS signal.

So the C2000 has an oriented signal output?
That would accomplish the same thing.

Did you write the tool change PLC or did you hire it out?
Marc is one of the best.

The C2000 has a configurable orient complete output. Can set the tolerance and time. It also has zero speed but I dont know when zero speed would ever add any value.

I write my own PLC code. I write software for a job so it's not too much of a challenge for me.

Drive is all sorted and tuned now. See the following video. 6000 RPM max, 0.35s acceleration/deceleration times. Very stiff orient positioning.

I will try remember to put up a parameter file from the VFD in case anyone else tries to get a servo motor running nicely on one.

Delta C2000 parameter file attached for setup of the VFD for an AC servo motor spindle (Panasonic 1.5kW with 2500 pulse incremental encoder and commutation UVW signals). Requires UVW encoder board. Setup suits the default Oak configuration. Uses -10 to +10V for speed and direction. Also has emergency stop and external fault set up. External fault is used for brake resistor overheat, or disable if not required. A brake resistor is required to stop the spindle fast from high speed. Increase deceleration time if not using a brake resistor. Emergency stop should be connected to Estop. In my case it is wired in parallel to the Oaks EStop DI, but I added an optocoupler isolator (a relay would do) to separate the power domains. Orientation is configured and tuned for fast response. If I remember I will also upload a wiring diagram so match the configuration file.

Thank you!
A schematic would be helpful.
May help get someone pointed in the right direction in the future.

I probably would not wire the VFD's 24V supply to H2 on the Oak.

Even though that supply to Oak shares the H2 header with the spindle analog output and input, it is not actually related to the spindle interface at all.

The 24VDC supply you connect to H2 is used for the servo drive I/O, on the four axis headers. I usually wire the 24V from PS1 (the RQ-65D underneath the Oak unit) to H2 for axis servo drive sequencing.
