GS2 VFD.

Post by bgpv2xt »

Hi Marty if you are still around I would like to get a specific diagram if possible. If it would show the actual terminal ID on a GS2 and the actual terminal ID on the Centroid plan that would be great. The GS2 is on page 2-10 and 2-11 of the user manual and the plan with my ALLINONE is A900811 Rev 18. I simply do not understand the terminal descriptions that are shown on the Centroid plan and the user manual for the GS2. This is what I have so far.
ACM H9 ADC COM
AO. H9 ADC IN
+10V H9 DAC COM
AI H9 DAC OUT
DCM not used
D16. not used
D15 not used
D14 not used
D13 not used
D12. H6. REV. OUT 8 NO
D11. H6 FWD.OUT 8 NC
R2. T14 Fault COM
R2C. H6 OUT 5. COM
R20. H10 -10
For example the first terminal label text in block A1 of the plan indicates the first terminal name is "INVERTER COM" is that the terminal on the GS2 that is named R2C ? So in a perfect world I would put a wire between those two connections. The thing that gets me messed up is The CENTROID PLAN calls it INVERTER COM, page 2-10 calls it RELAY OUTPUT and page 2-11 calls it MULTI......
Thank You
Pat

Do not connect +10V from the VFD to the Analog Common on the Allin1DC. Doing so will damage your VFD, Allin1DC, or both (because you will be short-circuiting the VFD's 10V supply through the Allin1DC.

Both analog common wires go to the ACM terminal on the VFD.

The signal Centroid calls "Inverter Com" is the sequence common for digital inputs to the inverter. On the GS2, this is DCM. Connect DCM to OUT5 COM and OUT7 COM.

Terminal R2C is the normally-closed contact of the fault relay. Connect to INP10. Terminal R2 is the relay common contact. Connect to 0VDC on TB1. There is no need to connect R2O (the normally-open contact of the same relay) to anything.

Refer to the circuit diagram on page 2-11 of the GS2 drive manual. There you will see which terminals are paired or grouped together as parts of which circuits.

Now I'm getting some where, but still more questions.
Where does the +10V terminal on the VFD go to on the ALLINONE.
What are the terminal numbers of both analog common wires on the ALLINONE?
Got R2C and R2 done.
I should make a chart with the Centroid inverter diagram and the GS VFD page 2-10 on one page with both titles of each terminal.
Thanks.

You don't need the +10V from the inverter. The Allin1DC analog output will connect to the AI and ACM terminals on the VFD. Unfortunately, just about everyone in the machine tool business uses different terminology to describe inputs and outputs. You have to read the signal descriptions and match their functions and not rely on matching names.
