Definitely watch the servo load meters while it is cutting. If you are not seeing the load meters going into the yellow or red range, then you can safely assume the servo motor is staying within 0.05mm or so of where it is supposed to be.

How about a make and model of this machine so we get an idea what you are dealing with. I assume these servo motors were used with the Fagor control?

I've never really been able to find out much about this machine. It has about 850mm travel in X 450mm in Y and 155 in Z. The spindle is powered by a 1440rpm 10hp induction motor with a 1:1 belt drive. I have max speed set to 3000rpm. To date I've been very impressed with the rigidity of the machine even at nearly full extension of the quill.
I have a small machine shop I run by myself out of a shed at our house. I also run another business as well taking groups to visit Aboriginal people all over Australia.
I use Fusion 360 for modelling and Cam. Since finishing the refit iv'e used the machine mostly for jobbing work and have done some small production runs. I've also used it to machine parts for a trailer that I'm building for my other Business.
Sorry about the rotated pic they weren't when I put them in.

Looks like a bigger cousin of the Supermax YCM-40, built by Yeong Chin Machinery.

If the YCM-40 is representative, it should be pretty good iron.

Happy with it so far.

I sorted my problem today.

The ram was loose and was moving while doing side cuts along X.
I sacked the guy that didn't tighten it. HAY THAT'S ME.

Thank's everyone for all your help and ideas.

I've learnt more about this machine and Centroid.

I thought about the Ram being loose, but thought it was so obvious that I didn’t want to be insulting. No worries as it is always the obvious that gets me too..,
