410 axis position error on first jog attemp
hi guys, slowly getting my allin1dc mill retrofit going. I have my motors on the machine unbelted. Its a Republic lagun 310 3 axis mill with baldor servos with the Centroid encoders installed. When I first attempted to jog, I had the "stall detection disabled". The motors ran away and I had to hit the estop. So, I enabled the stall detection and now as soon as I hit any axis jog button, the motor starts and right away the estop trips and I get the 410 axis position error. I have the Kp at 1.0, the Ki at .004, the Kd at 3.0, and the limit at 32000. Any ideas on where to start looking? The motors are turning the correct direction and when I manually turn the motor the dro goes in the correct direction. I will attach the report and a couple pictures of my screen. Thanks for any help

Try swapping the polarity of your servo motor power wires (swap plus and minus at the Allin1DC output terminals).

Hot diggity, that worked! I read about that but I figured I knew I had the positive hooked to the red wire on my motors and the negative to the black but I guess that wasn't right... thank you for the response! My z motor makes a bit of a hum noise at stand still. Doesn't move but just makes noise, do I worry about that?

No need to worry about it until you tune the motors. The noise is from it hunting between encoder counts.travismost wrote: ↑Fri Sep 10, 2021 5:52 pm Doesn't move but just makes noise, do I worry about that?
