Hello everybody,

I am currently working on the retrofit of a cnc with an Allin1Dc. My predecessor had bought a chinese atc spindle with a vfd delta ms300.

Spindle :

380 V
10A
5.5Kw
400-800Hz
12000-24000Rpm

VFD:

Delta MS300
INP/OUT 3Ph 380-480V

Wiring VFD/Allin1DC :

AVI (0-10V) - DAC OUT
ACM - DAC COM
MI1 - OUT 8 NC (CW)
MI2 - OUT 8 NO (CCW)
DCM - OUT 5 COM / OUT 7 COM

Parameter setting VFD :

00-03 - 1 - Start Up Display Selection -- 1 out put frequency
00-21 - 2 - Source of the operation command -- 2 External terminals
01-00 - 599 - Max operation frequency of motor 1 -- 0 to 599.00hz
01-01 - 599 - Output frequency of motor 1 -- 0 to 599.00hz
01-02 - 380 - Output voltage of motor 1 -- 0 to 480V
05-01 - 10 - Full load current of induction motor 1 (A)
05-02 - 5.5 - Rated power of induction motor 1 (Kw) - 0-655.35Kw

On allin1dc the motor is set with a speed range of 12000 to 24000.

But unfortunately it does not work, the vfd displays an error message

"ou5" --> Hardware failure in
voltage detection --> Check if input voltage is within specification
range and monitor if there is surge voltage.

I checked the vfd power supply (environ 480V) , it is correct.

I may have forgotten the settings?
Has anyone ever had a problem with the Delta MS300?
Is it plugged into the allin1dc?

It sounds to me there is a problem with the VFD/Spindle.
You can try and reset the VFD to factory settings and start programming from Scratch.
Disconnect the spindle motor and power up the VFD and see if you get the same message when you power on the VFD.

Hello Marty,

I reset the VFD to factory settings (there are no more error messages) (the error message was due to a wiring problem).
--> I tried to run the motor from the vfd display, I can modify the frequency and press RUN or STOP, the motor does not turn (I tried with no motor/ another motor, same result).

When I put the settings to be able to control it from the allin1dc/cnc12 same result:
I manage to modify the frequency from cnc12 --> the vfd displays the modification of frequency when I vary the speed (the 0/10V command works good).
And when I start the motor on cnc12 the vfd goes to RUN (then STOP when I stop it) --> Run and Stop command work fine

BUT --> On the other hand I notice that there is OV at the UVW outputs when the VFD is on RUN, so I think that my vfd is dead and cannot output the power to the UVW.

But before ordering a new VFD I would like to be sure of my conclusions ...

If the VFD display is showing RUN and a FREQUENCY along with it and your motor does not run, I would tend to agree with you.
Setting the VFD back to factory specs should have allowed the VFD to control the motor from its display.

You might try and reach out to Delta Customer Support.

Hello,

I inform you that the problem is finally solved, the solution is as follows:

- Changing the VFD with a new one (the same) --» the first VFD had a problem and wouldn't run any motors
- Rewiring between the VFD and the motor
- Reprogramming the VFD to have the correct settings (depending on the motor)
