Re: Movement banging on direction change
I don't know much about Delta drives, but them seem to be recommended in many places. My spindle drive is delta and it is awesome! I have asked for some quotes from suppliers.cnckeith wrote: ↑Wed Apr 13, 2022 5:56 pm maybe from alibaba?

Is the ASDA-B2 series OK, or do I need the A2 series? They seem to use the same motors.
Unfortunately Delta don't offer a motor with a 19mm shaft. They have 22mm. I would need to replace the couplings. Currently it has rigid couplings with a keyway and grub screw onto the ball screw and a taper lock onto the motor shaft. The Delta motor is 22mm keyed. What is the recommended type of coupling for such a retrofit?

Re: Movement banging on direction change
rigid couplings are a big no no.
use typical cnc couplings like these.

or china version

Re: Movement banging on direction change
Are they OK for higher torque and acceleration? No risk of oscillation in the flexible part on high speed moves?cnckeith wrote: ↑Thu Apr 14, 2022 3:41 pm rigid couplings are a big no no.

I need to measure the size on the machine today. I didnt see any 22mm couplings but will look again tonight once I know the size for the other end.

Re: Movement banging on direction change
Thanks, I hadn't seen those documents and would have just worked it out! I got them from Alibaba as you suggested. I have not received them yet but if it turns out the supplier is good I will share his details. He was very knowledgeable and excellent to communicate with.cnckeith wrote: ↑Mon Apr 18, 2022 5:06 pm great, where did you end up buying them?
