Some additional information from todays testing. I checked wiring of the Oak to DYN4 cables, all correct. I also checked that the reset signal from the Oak is driven when it should be. I can confirm for sure that none of the faults I could generate in the DYN4 can be reset with the external reset signal! They also cant be reset with the drive reset button in the DMM software either.

On top of that, the alarm output pulses when there is a fault in time with the fault LED. Not ideal for a control signal!

Another thing worth noting is that due to the use of SV_POWER_AXIS_1 in the condition for axis fault recognition, an axis fault may not be flagged until you first try use that axis as they are not enabled until they need to be used.

Wiring a contactor into the logic signals is not really an option for me, so guess I have to just put up with recycling power if a drive faults. I know under normal use a drive shouldn't fault unless something really bad is happening, but at the moment they do all the time as I am pushing them pretty hard. Luckily they have their own circuit breaker on logic power so easy to reset at the moment while the control panel is accessible.

Pulsing alarm isn't a problem.
I assume you are still bench testing?
You need to get a snap shot of the side of the drives and call DMM. It's possible the wrong firmware maybe installed.

Hi Marty,

I have contacted DMM. They know what the firmware is as they made it especially for me. The drives are not firmware undateable and require a PCB change so I dont imagine they will be fixing my special firmware version and sending more PCBs to New Zealand any time soon.

Guess I will just have to make sure they don't fault!
