CNC11 mill error code 417 when using file post processed from Fusion360 <resolved>

Post by ilstuscrt »

I've been using Fusion 360 to build toolpaths for parts for a couple months now, using the built in CENTROID CND postprocessor, and never major problems until recently. I can upload the .ptp, but the controller is refusing to do anything after loading the file, only displaying "417: Abnormal end of job". I've tried looking at the G-code and comparing it to previous files that worked and having no luck finding anything out of the ordinary. Also tried looking into the error message in the manual, however they aren't incredibly helpful. Google also fails to return any meaningful results. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

What kind of machine are you running?
Does it start to graph the part before error?
Have you always used a .ptp extension? What happens if you change the extension to .nc?
Post a report.

You are using a 9000 series file number which is for sub-programs without an M99 to end the subprogram.
Cheers,

Tom
Confidence is the feeling you have before you fully understand the situation.
I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are where they should be.

Thank you!
Have a look at my CNC12 specific Fusion 360 Post Processor in this POST.

This was it. Renamed the file and it worked fine.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply but renaming the file fixed it.
Just in case it helps someone in the future with a similar problem, I'm running an Atrump AONE 3VKNC 3 axis cnc knee mill.
It was not graphing
And we've always used a .ptp extension. We used to do most of the CAM in NX which exports a .ptp file. Files with the .nc extension produce the same error.
