You have AC Servos.
Maybe cncsnw will confirm the drives are compatible with Oak. I'd stick with them

Thank you Marty.

I saw that after I uploaded the pics and was looking at them a little closer. I am hoping to be able to reuse a lot of it as it was working until the drives started acting up.

Those are Yaskawa Sigma I drives and motors.

If they were in good working order, then they would be plug and play with an Oak board.

If the servo drives are not running reliably, you might consider new Yaskawa servos in their place. 450W motors and 500W drives are not that expensive, and it is likely that new motors of the same rating (e.g. SGM7G-05A7D6S) would install with no mechanical modifications.

Thank you! I'll start doing research in that direction. The X axis drive is questionable. The Z axis is solid. I appreciate your time and input!

You can probably find a used drive of that model on eBay, if needed.

See if you can figure out what's going on. Even if you had to source another Drive, I think you are ahead keeping the Yaskawa, Drives/Motors and go with Centroid Oak and their cables.

Maybe you can explain what the drive is or isn't doing. What is the history on the machine?

Thanks Marc for chiming in.

I thought that I was done pouring money into this thing. Silly me.

I thought that when I bought the console and software package that I was buying a license for the software. Apparently not.

I tried loading a large program today and discovered that Centroid wasn't done taking my money.

I have two options, Pro at $549 or Ultimate at $995. Any idea how that relates to file size? Will this thing drip feed, from a flash drive or RS232 port?

Thanks.

Scroll toward the bottom so you understand the features in Free, Pro and Digitizing bundle. You can upgrade to Pro and later if you decide you need digitizing, I'm pretty sure you only pay the difference between Pro and Digitizing to upgrade

Got it! Thanks Marty! Glad to see that the less expensive one is actually functional. And you're right, if I ever need to upgrade, it's just additional cost, not total.

Hard to believe that you spend the big money on the console and get the starter software. The Pro is what you want. The starter software is just a tease.
