Boy, those servos look old....a DC Brush servo is basically a DC motor. You can apply DC voltage to it and it will run. (over simplifying)
I would stick to 24VDC. The only reason to use something else is if your existing SENSORS require different voltage or SOURCE (PNP) Voltage (Some proximity sensors etc) . I would run NPN (Sinking sensors). That is the device connected to the input will SINK the +24VDC standing on the All in One DC board. This is how the generic Mill Schematic shows things and you are likely following.

Be sure you test those DC Servos. Follow this Technical Bulletin: https://www.centroidcnc.com/dealersuppo ... ds/155.pdf
You are going to have to tune those DC Brush Servos. Shielding meaning using cables that are shielded, grounding the drain wire back on the control side.

Thanks Marty!

I'll test the motors before proceeding. I've ordered new bulk cable from Centroid to make new ones that are shielded.

The motors are early or mid 80s.

My new cables should be here any day now.

Motors tested fine.

I see that there is a spot on the ALLinONE to hook up the shield. Is it safe to assume that the end at the servo motor goes to ground? The only place that looks available is under one of the screws holding the power connections in place. OK to hook up there?

In the case of the motors, that is a safety ground. Terminate on both ends. Bond the motor and connect to the terminal on All in One next to the +/- terminals

I am still working on running wires and cleaning up the installation but I have a nagging question.

I haven been over the schematic a few dozen times, looked through Marty's videos, the installation manual, and scoured the web, but for the life of me, I cannot figure where the wires go that connect to the servo motor brushes to the controller side. The power supply to the motor is straight forward.

Mark, could you clarify what the issue is? The schematic is pretty clear.
DC Brush Servo Motor DC+ wires go Axis 1+, 2+, 3+ and motor DC wires going to Axis 1-, 2-, 3- with the shield going to EGND

Your DC Buss Power supply is to land on +VM and -VM

The wires indicated in Chevy427z's picture are to the tachometer brushes.

They are not used. Centroid does not need the tachometer. Centroid uses the encoder for feedback.

Thank you sir! That explains why I couldn't find anything. I should have asked sooner, but I've been feeling pretty stupid with my questions.

I'm not sure how I can better phrase my questions to alleviate confusion. I try to think them out first and pose them as accurately as I can.

Thanks again!

Glad your question got answered. I usually pull the tachs out but ok to leave them in but cap the ends of the wires.

Don't feel dumb! ASK THE QUESTIONS. Thank for posting the pictures...

Working on my E-Stop. I was about to order a contactor, with installed snubber, but I can not find it listed in Centroid's online catalog.

From the instruction manual:
Centroid recommends using a Scheneider Electric/Telemecanique LC1DT40B7A or similar device for the E-stop contactor
(Centroid PART# 14374). This Contactor includes snubber assembly and uses 24VAC to control it. Both the VM- and VM+ go
through the E-stop contactor.

Can someone please provide a link to it? If they have discontinued it, where do you recommend that I find one? Thanks.
