Scales with Clearpath Servos

I'm looking to upgrade a machine that needs very high precision drilling holes using a .1mm drill bit within a +/- .005mm tolerance. I wanted to confirm I could use a set of scales in combination with the step/dir drivers on the Oak to obtain a high level of precision using PID or dumping the offset in the comp table on the fly.
The current control uses an ISA card and they are trying to ditch that.
My current plan is to go with the Clearpaths and then comp each axis with my ML10 or get continuous feedback with glass scales if the Oak can do more than just DRO with the encoder feedback. I have never used Acorn/Centroid products but have used Mach 3/4, Masso, UCCNC and can program most brands of PLC. This is my first customer that is requiring the axis to have some type of compensation from a replacement controller.
