New AllIn1DC startup

I have a 10 x 50 knee style milling machine (Bridgeport look alike) and have just rewired it for an AllIn1DC controller, I’m replacing the Anilam 1400M controller (the Anilam is for sale), which the little I used it was working just fine.

The Centroid p/n 14442 .25" 10000 line DC encoder w/pigtail is what I have.

The Centroid p/n 10674 Wave Bridge Rectifier is putting out 170 volts.

The encoder cables came from Centroid.

Here is the servo motor nameplate
servo nameplate info.jpg

I am going thru the installation manual and am to the page "6.1 INTRODUCTION TO SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION"
It says "Clear Any Existing Faults Before Continuing. To confirm that all faults have been cleared before continuing, press F3 MDI from
the main menu. If all faults have been cleared correctly, the screen should look like Figure 4.1.10"
When I press F3 I get an error, "412 MPG1 encoder error" and it looks like this,
Touch Screen 412.jpg
I don't have a MPG.

Any ideas on what I should do next?

Change Parameter 348 to zero.

Thanks, I’m not by the machine now so maybe it’s obvious when I am but where or how do I get to the parameters?

I did google it and found a parameter list pdf but not where to find them so I can change them

A quick read of the CNC12 manual might be in order. https://www.centroidcnc.com/centroid_di ... -v4.14.pdf

If you are following (as you should be) the All in One Installation manual, it clearly explains how to get in and change parameters.
Follow it step by step and you should be OK.
I did a series on an All in One DC installation that you might find useful.

Also, each time you are looking for help, please post a FRESH REPORT. (F7 Utilities, F7 Create Report)
All explained in this post: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=383

The better information you provide, the better suggestion we can make to help you.
Good luck with your build!
Marty

Thanks I did that and it made the error go away!

Now I’m back to the same monitor screen shot as above where where the actual monitor doesn’t look like the installation manual says it should

Yep I’ve been using it as my step by step guide but apparently I’ve missed a thing or 2, that’s why I’m on here asking for help. I appreciate any suggestions, I’m a hobbyist who wants to make parts so probably not good at retrofitting machines 😁

Craig,
No one will likely call you. We visit the board as time permits. That said, Marc is a Centroid Tech Rep/Dealer in the Northwest.
Very valued here when he has the time and he is generally for hire.
If that is something you need, you can reach him through his contact page at www.cncsnw.com if you want to entertain retaining his services.

Otherwise continue to post here when you need some help. Always post good details of the issue and a fresh report.
