Geneva umbrella wiring
I cant seem to find the default wiring for using a 1616 on oak of where they want the sensors to and motors wired too? I have a fadal geneva drive with 2 110v dc motors. one for slide and one for turret. searched and havent seen anything. also need it for the drawbar and solenoids for air etc.

Take a look at the attached OAK Schematic.occustoms wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 3:45 am I cant seem to find the default wiring for using a 1616 on oak of where they want the sensors to and motors wired too? See if helps. You have to use the Inputs and Outputs as outlined in the schematic in order to use the corresponding PLC.

Re: Geneva umbrella wiring
It does, only thing i have that is not listed is the oreintation arm. i have a solenoid that activates an arm with a small bearing that locks the spindle pulley from moving like when a m19 is activated.
So will i have to just wire to output on 1616 and have some custom plc for that?
I also have a atc fault switch that if the tool doesnt release during pick up or put down on carousel, that switch is activated and e-stops machine. should i just put this in line with estop circuit? or is their a better way?

Re: Geneva umbrella wiring
Does your orient arm have a sensor to let the control know when it in?
Does your machine have sensors for drawbar release and drawbar lock?

No on orint arm, and no on the drawbar. (factory fadal dont have it)
i can add a simple sensor and bracket for drawbar, but cant for orint, atleast not very easily.
i also dont have a seperate home for carousel, only out or in.
Can i just jumper the 1616 with home and carousel out?
Re: Geneva umbrella wiring
What Centroid usually means by "carousel home" is a rotational position, to tell if it is at or near tool 1.
As a rule, even though it appears on Centroid's schematic, such a sensor is really unnecessary on a Centroid control because the software will keep track of the carousel position from day to day. There is no need to home the carousel on power-up.

so do i need to add a sensor for clamped and unclamped?
also what about the orient complete?

Re: Geneva umbrella wiring
Well im blind it does have orient spindle sensor. Still need to know about clamped and unclamped sensor being needed?
