You could drive those motors using Centroid's current AC/DC servo drives (successor to the SD series), but that would be a more expensive path than the MPU11+LegacyAdd combination Marty suggested, and you would still need to find a suitable DC bus supply.

I second the recommendation to get it up and running with the original console, SD3, and RTK3. Even if your ultimate goal is to update to current-generation software, you will want to know whether the original drive, motors, encoders and PLC unit are in working order.

i have started stripping the machine .
i have brought the console home obviously it has nothing plugged in to it apart from power.
this is a picture of the alleged new motherboard when i start it up i get this picture blank screen green grey white. if i hit esc its starts to load and i then get the error screen with the displayed message
if anyone can point me to the fix for this it does say pic driver not loaded which is concerning

hopefully when this gets sorted i can go radio silent while i get on with the mechanicals

The "PCI driver not loaded" and "Timeout: 64180 not responding" messages suggest that the CPU10 board, plugged into the PCI expansion slot, is not communicating with the PC.

Try removing and reseating the CPU10 board. If you have some electronic contact cleaner, clean the board fingers and PCI slot contacts before you plug it back in.

i sorted the problem the cnc10 card has a plug on the top edge going to the panel
the graphics card was in the next pci slot and didn't leave enough room so both cards were wedged out a bit .

so i moved the vga card to pci 3 and bingo so hopefully i have a good base to rebuild a new machine from using the m400 and sd3

I wonder if you have a bad power supply and that is why you are getting PLC Failure detected. Or one of the fibers is out of place or not clean, or firmly connected
