Oak, control button panel, wireless MPG, software upgrade, ATC option and cables are all ordered and paid for. Three DYN4 and encoder adapters are ordered and paid for. Spindle drive is still a work in progress but its all happening! Todays job is to work out what buttons I want on the control panel overlay and start working on a wiring diagram plan...

Make sure you buy a line reactor and if you don't have a counter balance on Z a regenerative resistor for the Z drive. Both can be sized and recommended by DMM.
Automationdirect.com is the source for the line reactor, which can be sized for all three drive/motors. I assume you ordered the Oak data cables from DMM as well?

Looking forward to seeing pictures of your build.
Marty

Yes, ordered the drives and matching cables from DMM. I have never heard of a line reactor. I assume you mean a line filter? I have not ordereded any electrical cabinet parts yet. Need to sort power supplies and so forth too. Been busy trying to keep the machine running as is. it has developped a fault in the spindle drive power module now!

The Z axis has no counter balance. It is held up by the servo motor. When the motor is not driving, a brae in the servo prevents it from falling. Most of the VFDs I have seen have built in braking resistor or can have one wired. It will probably need them as it needs to be able to slow down pretty fast.

I also had to order an ADD1616 because I am short by one output! Guess I will find some extra stuff to wire up to it as I will have 15 spare outputs and about 26 spare inputs!!!

Go watch my YouTube videos on a FADAL TRM I did. You want the Line Reactor and the regenerative resistor for the Z axis. You want line filter for drive logic power.
