Does anyone know if there is a command to hold the spindle stationary when using the listed VFD (like a spindle orientation, but not position dependent), without relying on a spindle encoder and the added PG card?

i think you are out of luck, you need a servo system to do that not a vfd

The A500 will do that, but only in closed-loop vector mode using encoder feedback. I do not know of any VFD that can hold position without encoder feedback.

RESOLVED>That's what I thought. I knew it could be done with an encoder connection and the appropriate accessory card, I was just looking for ways to accommodate the client's request.
