Re: Oak in velocity mode help
ok I got it back from centroid (nothing wrong with it) SO i spent like 2 nights going over everything. Wiring checked out fine. So i started and 0 on pids and slowly started. ALso changed the pid in the dmm drives too. messing around with both and checking what difference each made (figuring what each part of the pid does. Soooo Many hrs later guess what,,,, I got it to work and track fine on bench. went from a 10 feed rate to 280 with it being great and everywhere in between.
Still have the report problem making report way to dang big. ( Guess we will figure that one out later )
And have a lil problem not reaching full dro programs (Distance to go). but its not far off. I have it on a .22222224 pitch and im not reaching full travel by .03-.075 of a degree (4th axis rotation) so i might up the resolution of the encoder as im currently only using 8000 and ill try the 32,xxx later see if that helps.
(The Dmm Drive and motor is for my custom 4th axis im building)
Next up test it and tune the Glentek drive and motor before install on the machine.

Extract the report_*.txt file from one of your giant reports, and post just that file here.

Re: Oak in velocity mode help
Can you explane how you fixed it? Im getting "drive3 fault" velocity on hurco. Drives are wired fine and test out with manually applying voltage. I have hurco drive wiring as soon as i can figure out how to post it. Thanks

I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are where they should be.

Re: Oak in velocity mode help
Ok i got another question for reusing my glentek drives (GA4568EA-1HP) do i need to have the enable on the oak setup to turn on the drive?
(motor wires connection curcuit, i believe thats how the fadal is setup with the factory, no movement due to motor wires dont connect till movement command or in jog mode.)
I do have fadal in jog mode so the axis are connected curcuit wise to motor, also have encoder wired and turning in correct direction for + and -
when i try and just test it without enable wired in , (still have drive powered by mill and disconnected signals from fadal and hooked up signals from oak) i get axis drive error imediately. (just trying to jog) also happens when trying to due a tune too.

Re: Oak in velocity mode help
Ok i read the other velocity mode guys thread and had to wire up the fault side. And that worked out fine. Did pid tuning and good to go. My next question is how exactly does the enable circuit work. Do i use that the enable the contactor for the amp card on the motor driving side?
