1996 HURKO M5 - OAK cnc controler #13135

Post by OAK JOSE »

Is it possible to update a HURKO M5 installing just an OAK cnc controller #13135?
I will use my own W10 PC and an acer touch screen, for now.

The machine runs( I don´t use it) but I want to replace the old operator control console.

3 - axis - Baldor MTE-4535-SPECIAL dc servo ENCODER 500L
3 - 1993 servo dynamics AW1450-

I do appreciate in advance any help and time on this matter.

It depends. Do the AW1450 drivers have servo passthru capability? If not, you should look at the AllIn1DC and drive the motors directly. In either case you will need to replace the 500 line encoders with at least 2000 line ones.

Post a link to the motor and drive manuals and some photos of the machine itself. You also didn't mention anything about the spindle drive. Does it take a 0-10V analog signal to control speed?

We'll need a lot more information and photos to help you make a decision.
Cheers,

Tom

I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are where they should be.

I'm with Tom, DC brush servos? If so, All in One DC with new encoders. I did a video series on All in One to give you an idea of what is involved.
