I have a lathe control pendant on my AJAX centroid lathe control. Is it possible to use this pendant with my milling software or are the pendants different, apart from the extra jog buttons on the milling pendant?

The pendants are the same minus the stickers for 3rd/4th axis for the mills. The pendant won't care, you can use the buttons they just won't have stickers there. You must set up the extra axis in the software though in order for the pendant to know there something there to move. If you are using the lathe PLC it might only be set up for 2 axis. You would also have to go in there and add the inputs from the other axis(s).
