Settings / Parameters for new Oak lathe install (RESOLVED)

Post by RTech »

I'm working on the install of an Oak install on my lathe, but I'm having some issues with axis assignment or parameter settings. It's probably something simple...a setting or parameter.

The issue I'm having is the upper DRO on the display is labeled "Z" for diameter and the lower DRO is labeled "X". The jog buttons also control the wrong axis (Z button moves X, X button moves Z). Attached is a screen shot.

The lathe uses Yaskawa Sigma V drives and have been set up via TB267. In the control, Axis1 is assigned to X and Axis2 is assigned to Z. I have parameter 300 set to 1 (X), 301 set to 2 (Z) and encoder parameter 308 set to 1 (X) and 309 set to 2 (Z).

I've double checked wiring to the drives and to Axis1 and Axis2 connectors on the Oak.

Also attached is a report.

Please disregard the 412 MPG error...I'm just starting on this and haven't set the parameter 348 to 0 yet.

You need to set up the Z axis as axis #1 in all of the configuration menus; set up the X axis as axis #2 in all of the configuration menus; and connect the drives in that order as well.
