AllInOne-DC to Mitsubishi MR-J2S Servo drive

Post by johnballard »

Quick question: Can the AllInOne-DC board connect to a Mitsubishi MR-J2S servo drive? I searched this forum and found that the Oak board has a 'flying lead' cable that can connect to other drives, but I can't find the same in the AllInOneDC board.

John
AllinDc is for DC servo motor only .
Is Mitsubishi J2S has analogue or pulse input type??
If yes then u need Oak board for it
I assume J2S not running through c.c link .
If cc link it can't be used

The AllIn1DC is essentially and OAK board with built-in DC servo drivers. If the Mitsu drivers accept +-10V or differential quadrature position input, and have a differential quadrature encoder output, you can use an Oak controller. The Allin1DC can only drive brushed DC motors, so you'd have to remove the Mitsu drives and replace the AC motors with brushed DC (a step back IMHO) to use the AllIn1DC board.

Thanks Tom & Aamir - confirming what I thought. The Mitsubishi drives accept a pulse train and can accept 200k pulses/sec.

Can you clarify what you mean by pulse train? If it's a quadrature pulse train then use Oak. If they are step and direction, then you can use an Acorn for an open loop solution.

I have an AllInOne-DC so I will not consider using the Mitshubishi AC servo drive to replace my failing DC brushed motor. I will find another MTE-4070. Not considering Oak or Acorn.

The input to the Mitshubishi servo drive is configurable. Could be quadrature, could also be step&direction. There are four modes it will accept.
