Retrofits Maho MH400E, Fusion 350 and 4/5 Axis

Hi,

My plan is to retrofits a Maho MH400E mill with a Oak controller and add a 4 axis and later the 5 axis.
I wont to using the old +-10V servo controller for XYZ axis, and the feed back is linear scales.
Will there be any problems with using the original linear scales ?

What is the status on using Fusion 350 and 4 or 5 Axis on the Oak board,
Is there a Post processor for Fusion 360 to the Oak hardware and software ?

Do I need sum special software Option ?

If the scales are RS485 differential line driver quadrature encoders, you will have no problems using them. You will need an ENCEXP board and the scale feedback software option. The servo controllers should work, but you will probably have to replace the motor encoders.

you most likely have siemens or indramat drives and servos. most of the siemens stuff of that era used hall effect feedback to the drive, so you will have to add an incremental encoder to each servo for the oak board in addition to the scales

Hi,

The MAHO has indramat drives and servos, the motor encoder is connectet to the indramat driver.
The linear scales is connectet to the old 432 CNC controller.

To keep the accuracy on the machine i need the linear scales for possition the axis.

i believe with oak the scales are only a second measuring system, you will still need an encoder signal to oak as the primary feedback, can you tap an encoder signal out of the indramat drives?

Fusion 360 posts are available for Centroid machines. The post isn't really specific to the board used, although you may need to tweak it depending on your axis configuration for multi axis use.
