The contactors are in series with the 24vac side of the switch and not connected to the Oak relay. They seem to be fine like this. I get encoder errors during e-stop but the absolute encoders don’t seem to be losing position so thats really a pretty minor annoyance at this time.

Thankfully I haven’t had any other problems at all while running them. Ive got a few hours on them now with no faults or other issues. I haven’t got them tuned yet but they are moving everything, to include the head, around fine at 500ipm surprisingly smoothly.

In summary: Not impressed with the enable/control issue but all in all they are functioning well for their price point.
My FADAL TRM is working properly so far.
Estop output on Oak goes through the Estop NC contact block and feeds the Estop relay which ONLY controls DYN4 motor power (R&S).DYN4 Logic power comes on and stays on when Oak is powered up as it should. This way encoder data and drive status is continually fed to OAK and OAK knows the motors position. Oak is resetting the drives if there is a fault.
So, the Oak generic Drive Schematic is working ok for me.

I may have to revisit the issue later. We'll see how bad the error messages bug me I guess. I've had a few other people tell me they get the same error if they try to leave the logic power on with the motor power off. Maybe they did change something in the firmware.

Did you try the GEAR_NUM=8192 & LINE_NUM=4095 by any chance? I never could get that to work. I ended up using the 2000 for both.

OK. Today while setting up home, I did run the Z axis into the hard stop. I got the RED LED, not flashing, and cycling Estop did not correct it. The only way to correct it was a full power down and back up. I have an email into my contact at DMM.

Now that I have homing to reference marks setup, the FADAL is repeatably homing to the marks.
I can park before shut down and the control will put the three axis all at -.050" so on power up its quick to home.
No more errors so far. Still doing machine configuration....will cut some metal soon...

You might try 8192 and 4096.

Yeah I thought it was a typo too.

It won’t take 4096, doesn’t allow numbers that large. Story I heard is that 4095 puts it into some kind of special mode for the Oak with 32768 counts output. That’s one of the reasons I’m wondering my drives are really up to date.

Here’s the schematic with those instructions:

What GEAR_NUM and LINE_NUM values did you end up using? 892 and 4095 do not make sense according to the calculations!
