Dc310 Lathe on Single phase
Hello, can anyone offer advise if this is suitable for single phase 230v operation?
I believe the VFD will have to be replaced for one rated for single phase input.
Thank you

Re: Dc310 Lathe on Single phase
You don't give the spindle horsepower, but judging from the VFD it's probably around 10Hp. If that's the case, you probably will not be able to run it on single phase. The largest VFD with single phase input that I know of is 5Hp.
There are postings around the Internet that say you can just use the next larger 3 phase inverter, or one with double the Hp rating (depending on the post), and just use those on single phase. Haven't done it -probably won't try it.

The control as a general rule may run single phase.mikebramel wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 2:25 am Hello, can anyone offer advise if this is suitable for single phase 230v operation?

You would likely have to change the VFD.

Re: Dc310 Lathe on Single phase
From Centroid Support staff based on the Control Number provided:
"That control was wired in Taiwan.
It should have been wired 220V single phase for the control.
The flood and inverter / spindle would need 3 phase."

Thank you
X and Z are moving and spindle can be jogged on single phase. Havent figured the turret out yet. Im not sure if I can feed that motor with a small static phase converter, that would be easy to implement

Re: Dc310 Lathe on Single phase
Use a small VFD for the turret. You can control forward and reverse with it.

Yes, a good option, but I was hoping to run it this week LOL
