**RESOLVED** GPIO4D Output1 trouble (Solved ajaxplugin 1.16)

Post by bonestock »

my setup: mpu11/gpio4d/mach3

I am having a bit of trouble with my estop wiring on my GPIO4D. It does not appear that Output1 relay is closing. Everything operates perfectly when just using output 17 in series with the estop coil, but not with output 1. Up to this point I have just bypassed output1 and continued with my build, testing, and tuning but do not think this is a good idea for the long term.

I suspect I am missing something obvious.

The documentation states that output 1 is controlled by the PLC program. So should a mach brain be triggering this?

I have also attached an clip of the wiring from the install doc.

Hmm due to the lack of response I assume means one or more of the following
a) no one is wiring output 1 according to the documentation
b) something may be wrong with the board
c) no one has any clue what I am talking about
d) forum traffic is just way slow

So far everything works fine with output 1 not being in the estop loop, however I fear the time that I may need output 1 "No Fault" and not have it.

After seeing a thread reporting a similar issue I am going to double check the spindle and lube faults are properly jumpered.

I rewired my lube, spindle and 4 axis faults closed and yet output 1 still does not work. Aside from open faults or a communication problem what would cause output 1 (Fault/No Fault) to not close? I am running programs and everything else seems to be trucking along fine when I bypass output 1 so what's the deal? Thoughts? Ideas? Jokes?

So if my GPIO4D Output 1 relay stuck in a NO position and is not closing does it mean my GPIO4D board is bad?

All of my faults are wired closed or verified to be closed though my limit switches.
My estop inputs are wired properly and estop is seen by the board and my estop coil drops when the physical estop button is pressed.

However my system fails to operate when I wire Output 1 in series with the Fault Out due to Output 1 staying in a NO position regardless of the machine state.

Is there any additional troubleshooting suggested before I start the process of obtaining a replacement board? Are bad relays a common occurrence on these boards?

Yep. Still here. Clearly we have a deficiency of mach users here though my problem pertains to GPIO4D board in case anyone from the CNC11 world would like to chime in. Don't be bashful.

bonestock ,
I am CNC10/11 user .If this problem is in CNC10 or CNC11 we can switch the out1 to any of the other output.
you can take the tech support from ajaxtech .They can switch the out1 to any other output

I am having similar problem with No Fault relay on initially configuring my new All-in-One / CNC11 system.
Have carefully checked all parameters specified in the manual but relay stays open.
Sent tech support an email several days ago, but no response yet.
When (if?) I get this sorted out, I will post any useful information information.

Just learned from tech support that there is one step missing from the installation instructions for bringing up the All-in-one.

In order to get the No Fault relay to close when doing the bench test, you need to disable homing by setting parameter 5 to 1.0000.

That did the trick for me. Good luck.

Simmonds,
Actually parameter5 will disable the home on startup it will ensure you the enocder input . It has no relation to start the No Fault relay .It seems to me either some of your limit or some other setting will cause the out1 or No Fault Relay to open .
