Yeah I have logic power on all the time. Contactor only switches the motor power. The breaker turns them both off. It’s just like that second diagram except I have a line reactor between the breaker and contactor.

I’m really puzzled about this. It would seem that if it were a noise issue it would happen when I cycle the contactors too. This seems to be limited to when I first power the machine up.

Are you using DMM made cables from Oak to DMM DYN4.

Yeah I bought the cables from DMM.

Is it possible the active enable low setting on the drive is causing this? I don't know if that pin is high until pulled low by Oak, or if it's just floating there waiting for something to pull it high or low. If it's allowed to be low prior to the Oak running, but after the drive logic power is applied I could see it causing problems.

Test, when you power up your drives and the control, your motors should be free, rotors should not be locked.
Oak will enable the drives when each axis is commanded to move.

Oh yeah they are free until commanded to move.

It’s that period of time when I power up the cabinet and the drives get logic power, but don’t have motor power yet and the Oak hasn’t pulled the enable high. I was thinking an enabled drive with no power might cause a fault but I’m still not sure why I’d have to cycle the logic power off to clear it.

It could also be that I have no idea what I’m doing. That’s probably more likely. I’m going to go through my wiring again and see if I can find anything that might be causing noise. I can’t get past the fact that it acts fine once the Oak is running...

ETA: I just got an email response from DMM confirming my fear. They think it's the floating enable input causing issues before the Oak is running. :(

How long ago did you get the drives and cables?
We had issues until few months ago which they corrected. You need to point blank ask them to look up your invoice and see if you have the latest FIRMWARE revision in your DYN4s and the latest revision Oak to DYN4 cables. Take pictures of the sides of your DYN4 drives, the forward revision is on there as well.

Okay I will do that. They shipped 10-11-19 so it’s questionable. The FW revision on the drives is PTS1-26-HL01

You have to check with DMM on both the cables and the firmware. I don't have your problem at least when I was testing the system for my FADAL conversion. I'll be getting back on it soon.

I am having random fault issues also, and I also purchased my DYN4 drives 10/21/19. I have a Acorn board and there cables not a Oak, but still i am having issues with faults. They are telling me its setting issues but they will just fault out sitting there, some times when there Active high and Low. I just worked through some issues today with Marty and went to finish setup and now i am back to issues. I have random faults and also my X drive now wont hold position and will keep rotating backwards? When it moves backwards my DRO doesn't even change values and it moves a few thousandths? This may not be the correct place for the question, but wanted to let you know i have the same drives from the same date and are having issues. I attached my videos and also a picture of my drives. I emailed them to ask the same question if the Firmware was good and my cables.
