spindle wont come on

I have GPIO4D running mach3, the spindle contactor is wired as per 9.3.1 in the manual. It does not come on when I program M3 in MDI or "press" the spindle Cw in mach3. Do I need to turn on something in mach3 ?.
Thanks
Kevin

Have you issued an "S" command in MDI?

Measure the analog output from the GPIO4D while commanding a M3 S1000, what is the voltage?

Is this for the spindle analog output?. If it is it's 1.2 volts.

If you remove the wires coming out of the analog input to the spindle on the GPIO4D, what does the voltage measure now?

Increase the S command to S2000, now measure it. Keep in mind that the spindle must me ebabled (issue an M3) in order for the analog voltage to be output.

I don't have any wires to the spindle analog, only to the contactors. The voltage at 2000 rpm is 2.5 volts
Thanks

If you use relays only thern you have to specify them in ports/ pins, mill options I think, upper left corner.
