Digitizing to Fusion 360

We have an early version of the process Keith explained. Ours uses a DP4P probe (now replaced by the DP7, although the probe I use has been downgraded to a regular dp4 due to the additional sensor failing and now just being a mechanical contact setup). I have used many scanning / probing / combo techniques and agree with Keith that cylinder ports are likely best suite to probing, u less a very small custom scanner head were fitted to something to get inside of the port.

We also have an early version of the porting import into Mastercam (X4). The process to digitize and obtain surfaces with which to create toolpaths is quite involved as compared to the newer port expert program. We primarily port a single type of cylinder head (Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle) and the costs to upgrade the software justo don't fit in what we do with the machine.

As for import into Fusion 360, the software is not intended to handle point cloud data as has been noted by the developers. There is ano auto desk product that does handle.ppint.clouds,albeit more for civil / structural scans (buildings / streets, etc)

If you want to import proved data into F360, you may have luck doing a serise of 2d scans, and using a poly line plug-in available for F360.

What is it that you are primarily lookin to Digitize?

I can get the file into meshlab ok. I think you must be using industry slang. I can't find anything related to "wrapping".
That may be what I am not grasping.
What are the steps to achieve this wrapping?

Note: The "DIG" files was exported with the DIG TO CAD option in the Centroid software and I opened the resulting TXT file in Meshlab.

sorry for the delayed response. Holiday stuff got in the way.
I must need to try a different digitize.
I can't achieve the same solid looking result after the poisson filter.
I still see all the lines. See photo
I went ahead and tried to save it to .obj and import into 360 but it failed to load.
Anything else I can try to get it converted?

I have had some problems with opening them in fusion from time to time - export not export as seems to be key (at least in my case).

I also "hide" the points in the layer tree in the upper right before exporting - not sure if that matters.

Not sure what happened with the photo so I try again.

In MeshLab - turn off the point layer (top) and highlight the Poisson Mesh layer before exporting. That seems to be the trick to make it work consistently for me anyway.

That didn't do anything for me.
I suspect it is because I don't see the completed solid looking part after the poisson step.
I must be missing something different from your example file.
I still see what you see in the above picture.

The yellow should disappear when you turn off the point cloud layer.

Can you send me your point cloud file or attach it to a post?

It does disappear but I still don't see the solid you get and it fails to load even with the top layer turned off.
