I've got a high speed yaskawa spindle motor I intend to use in my mori lathe. I'm swapping out the original drive for a yaskawa v1000 vfd.

You can see from the motor plate there are some parameters listed which I believe is what you would use to setup a v/hz curve for the drive.

With this type of motor will I be better served with a v/hz mode or sensorless vector?

Thanks!

Sorry the image is upside down.

It looks like your motor is dual voltage with a rated RPM at a given hz.
That's more than likely the max and min rated RPM's on the name plate. Min rpm is there so the motor is not over heat due to low air flow because the fan is motor driven. Max RPM is so you don't sling it apart. If it were me I would wire it for the high voltage because it reduces the amp draw.
Set the drive up for sensorless vector.
The motor in my video have a fan powered by a 220V so the air flow is constant no matter the motor speed. It only has a max RPM rating not a min.
Hope this helps you.

Here is a video explaining how sensorless vector works.
