Hi,
My machine is a Tryax 3 axis VMC, 12 years old. M400 controller, CNC10 V2.64.
I bought it 3 years ago and this is the first major problem I have with it. These errors cane up when I went to power up the machine. The power logic led is not on and the SD3 board is getting power.
Errors 404 and 439

Re: Errors 404 and 439
sounds like the logic power supply went bad or the connection from the logic power supply to the drive is not connected.

Re: Errors 404 and 439
Hi cnckeith,
Is the logic power supply the small board, 3" x 4" with the 3 wires on the left and 2 on the right?
The output on the right is 300VDC and I am getting 300VDC on the SD3, between the logic power terminal and the (VM-) terminal.
Another problem has now appeared. I have no power to the consul, so no screen, no keyboard/buttons lighting up.
I took off the back cover from the consol and checked its power supply. It is getting power, 110V. but not outputting anything. its fan is not running. When I started poking at connections, I found that the large connector from the power supply into the main board is giving trouble. If I wiggle it, I can get the power supply fan to run, the keyboard lights up/flashs on and off a few times, the main board fan runs for a few seconds, then it all goes dead again.
I am getting my local computer guy to look at the main board problem tomorrow evening.
Could this be the root of my problems with the SD3?

Re: Errors 404 and 439
Hi,
Power supply in consul was faulty. Got this replaced, powered back up and the 404 and 439 errors are still there.
So back to the SD3. This appears to be getting power, 300VDC, so I assume its got an internal problem.
Anyone know where to go with this in Ireland?

Re: Errors 404 and 439
I have seen 439 errors on a machine with an SD3 that had a chaffed wire in one of the encoder cables. The problem was intermittent, and would often go away If I removed the cable and sprayed De-Oxit on the connection (the issues was not the connection itself, rather the movement of the encoder cable that "un shorted" the chaffed wire)
