Needing help regarding a Bridgeport Boss with a DP4 probe.

Upon EVERY start up, the control thinks the probe is connected when it's actually not.

No programs will run, the spindle will not start, "jogging while probe detected" is displayed, etc. until I connect the probe and touch the stylus to cycle the LED.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

Nigelo - this is a much older Linux based CNC10 system that doesn't create a zip file like the newer versions.

It is version 2.30. It does create a report.zip. All CNC10/Linux versions do.

The user interface for specifying where to store a report is awkward, but there would have been a report.zip file in the same folder as the report.txt file.

That is clearly a startup glitch, where the hardware/software does not correctly read the states of the inputs until there has been a change of state.

I do not immediately see anything in the CNC10 v2.3x release notes about it, but nonetheless you could try updating your software from v2.30 to v2.38.

Unpack that ZIP onto a USB drive (but do not unpack the ZIP files contained within it); then use F7/Utility -> F2/Update.
