machine won't home

Post by andyhowden1963 »

I'm using a centriod m400 controller on a tryax bed mill, the controller prompted me to send the machine home but when the correct button was pressed the machine just jumps in the x axis. Y Axis does work correctly as does Z Axis. The machine will not return home. Any assistance would be appreciated.

A report and photos of your machine would help a lot.
How to make a report:
viewtopic.php?f=61&t=3216
Any error messages on the screen?

i moved this post out of the acorn forum.

Andy,
hello.
please post a fresh report.zip so we can see the error log of the cnc control and that will also give us a copy of the home program and other good info to help you out!

Assuming there have been no hardware changes (e.g. servo motor or servo drive disconnected and reconnected) since it last ran without errors, the most likely issues are encoder failure and servo drive failure.

The error message which appears on the screen when the X axis "jumps" will give a good indication whether it is a drive issue or an encoder issue.

Assuming the software has been updated since 1998, so that it is running CNC7 v8.10 or newer instead of the original CNC7 v5.27, then the Report that you post will include the message log so that others can see the error message.

If the control is still running CNC7 v5.27, then you will just have to tell us what the error message says.
