I have gone through the software upgrade process with an Acorn, where you had to capture wizard settings. Is there a similar process for the Allin1dc? As of yet I have no customizations, so I expect that just installing the update would be possible. I have zero PLC knowledge but I expect no changes would be required...? My Hardinge CHNC4 has a dedicated PLC that I've browsed through just enough to get that glazed look, but I would be curious to know if and when changes would be required.

The actual calculation is Vac x sqrt(2) = Vdc.

If you are updating from CNC10 (the previous control system) to CNC11 or CNC12, then you need to recreate and/or reenter most settings.I have gone through the software upgrade process with an Acorn, where you had to capture wizard settings. Is there a similar process for the Allin1dc?
If you are updating from an earlier version of CNC11 or CNC12, to the current CNC12, then you can simply install the new software over the old (as an update); or install the new software, then restore a report from the old version. Thankfully in this regard, the Acorn contagion has not spread to Oak/Allin1DC/MPU11 systems.
If your objective in updating to the latest CNC12 is to have the use of PLC-based features that were not previously available (e.g. VCP, wireless MPG, separate Rapid Override controls, etc.) then you will need to do some work to incorporate the desired new features into your existing PLC program; or to incorporate the custom features of your existing PLC program into a new "basic" PLC program.

A PLC for Hardinge lathe$ was "included" in my package so I won't worry about it today. Good news on the updates - I always dread having to upgrade Acorn, which I will do someday with the hope that the next upgrade will make it easier for future ones...
Today I spent time identifying the B C D cables and their dismembered mate - on to splicing. I also have a general space plan for the cabinet...There is a 16x21 sub plate and many of the items are already on it - with a bit of tweaking the ALLIN1DC and PLCADD1616 should fit. Anybody have any good layout pictures? What are the thoughts of putting the PLCADD1616 under the ALLIN1DC. I have some DIN rail mounts that fit the hole spacing so getting it in and out won't be too much of a chore if I need to add I/O.
My question about the voltage for the drives is still open - If I got rid of the transformer and rectified my line voltage, which is usually 123-125 multiplied by root2 translates to 174-177 - is that pushing it for 180V Max motors is is it best to run them at the current 130 VDC?

If by "under" you mean "hidden behind", I recommend against.What are the thoughts of putting the PLCADD1616 under the ALLIN1DC.
When space is limited, I usually mount the PLCADD1616 on 1/2" or 3/4" standoffs on the Allin1DC cover plate.

I like it - I wouldn't have thought of that.
I seem to have a disconnect - assume operator error but the VCP is not moving mt axes, I can move with the wireless MPG. I'm sure it's a simple fix, but I gotta step away from the elephant and start packing 9-)
For some unknown reason I was able to back myself into the spindle bench test...after trying to get it going for five days...

Did you press the INCR/CONT button, to turn off the INCR light, so that you can jog in continuous mode?the VCP is not moving mt axes
If not, then it will be jogging incrementally, moving the axis 0.001" each time you press a jog button.

The DRO doesn’t show any motion. I can move with MDI as well. it may be related to keyboard jog setting…?

It looks like the stages for jogging the first two axes have gone missing from your PLC program.
Assuming it came from the factory that way, that would be a question for Allin1Chris.
