Yeah, no kidding. Hence my surprise. I *thought* I had paid for a fully functional package up front. Live and learn. Probably have to buy another one when I finally get the lathe running again, too.

I did buy the Pro.

Hi folks!

Been a busy year! Hope everyone is well!

I held off starting work on my lathe as I couldn't justify the cost of the Centroid, but if the economy ever turns around I will get back to it. I've been working the hell out of the Wells Index. Such a pleasure to use again after watching it collect dust for all those years.

I also retired last October so I've been thoroughly enjoying that!

My question now is about my touch screen. For whatever reason, the touch functionality of it just goes away after running for a few hours. The function keys on the keyboard work fine and the controller doesn't seem to have any other ill effects. If I reboot the entire system, everything is fine. Any ideas as to the cause? Known issue?

Thanks!
Mark

Which make and model touchscreen did you buy?
Could well be the touch screen or perhaps a Windows driver issue?

Hi Marty!

I just came down from the shop. I'll figure out which one I have and report back. Thank you for your prompt response!

Hi Marty!

I can't find my original purchase paperwork right off. Does this help? If not, I will have to dig deeper.

You have a Centroid Console.
Give Centroid a call for guidance.
Marc may chime in or one of their techs

Really sad to report that I have to send the entire console in for troubleshooting. Paid serious money for it and it's no longer under warranty. It may have 40 hours on it.

The touch screen started shutting off after a few hours of running, now it doesn't work at all (the touch screen). Minimum charge will be $375, $990 at worst. I can't imagine the shipping. It weighs about 20 pounds. The control still works, just no touch screen. As long as that's the case, I will continue to use it as is since I'll have to ship it in anyhow if it quits altogether. I put too much into it to begin with. Very very sad and disappointed.

Mark,

have you checked the touch screen cables?

turn off the power and remove and reseat these

1.) USB going to the computer

2.) and touch screen to touch screen controller board.

and then turn back on and test.

then if no joy we can send you the screen controller board for you to swap out to see if that is the issue. -Keith

Thank you Keith!

My apologies for the late response. I don't get notifications of replies to my posts. Not sure why. I had asked in a previous post and got no response. I can't find any settings where I may have turned that off.

I will take a look at the connections today. Thanks again!
