Re: mach3 mpu11 probing
i haven’t tried anything other than manual probing with things as they are. if you have a script or brain for auto probing
i would be happy to try it. if not when i get some time i will see if i can write something. what would you recommend i use to stop movement when the probe touches? the stop command or is their something else?
thanks
Eric

Re: mach3 mpu11 probing
Hi Eric,
I was just in a meeting in which I outlined the requirements for high speed probe sampling with one of our programmers. If you can hold on a few days more I should have something you can test with this week.
The stopping will be handled in the MPU11 using configured decel values, the position of all axes at the time the probe trip is detected will be reported back to the Mach.

Hi Eric,
We now have a version of the plugin that supports G31 style commands. If you would like to test it, please email us at tech@ajaxcnc.com and we'll send you the installer.
Thanks,
-Aaron

Re: mach3 mpu11 probing
is this version difrent than 1.10?
i have been testing 1.10 and it works great.
my exhisting probing routines work with very little modifications.
thank you for your continued good work.

Re: mach3 mpu11 probing
Eric,
The version Aaron is referring to is v1.10. Glad to hear it's working for you. I would love to hear the specifics of your results.
Please post your findings.
Thanks

Re: mach3 mpu11 probing
i have routines set up for id centering edge finding on all four corners vice corner location and coordinate system rotation.
i finished testing the routines last night. i will be testing repeatability and accuracy next when i have some results i will let you know.
thanks
Eric

Re: mach3 mpu11 probing
After further testing of the probing routines he is what I have so far. I have my probe input hooked to the dc3io probe detect input mod 15. I know it is the slow input but I do not have a plug for the mpu11 yet. I have a brain to map mod 15 to mach3 digitize input so I have an indication on the screens. Probing at 50 ipm I get .070 over shoot and an accuracy and repeatability of .001. Probing at 20 ipm I get .011 over shoot and an accuracy and repeatability of less than .0005. Probing at 10 ipm I get .0025 over shoot and an accuracy and repeatability of less than .0005. I believe I might get better results with the high-speed input but I am more than happy with these results. Again thank everyone at ajaxcnc for adding the probing function and the continuing improvement of the product.
Thanks
Eric
Thanks
