Connecting an ACORN Rev4 to CENTROID CNC4 MICRO1 DRIVEs

Post by GECENG »

I'm replacing a Centroid controller CPU4EJ and DOS computer that is driving 3 CENTROID CNC4 MICRO1 DRIVEs driving 3 stepper motors with an ACORN_rev4 and a Centroid Configured All-in-one CNCPC.

Using two DC26 2x13 Pins Male Header Breakout Board Terminal Blocks I verified the XYZ connections as shown between the CPU4EJ and the 3 CENTROID CNC4 MICRO1 DRIVEs

See Pic 1 DC26 2x13.jpg
See Pic 2 centroid S14964.r4.jpg

The drawing (S14964.DWG ) for ACORN_rev4 shows conections to CENTROID CNC4 MICRO1 DRIVE clearly shows connections to the H2 AC Servo Drive Conections.

What the heck, shouldn't it be to the H6 Stepper drive connection. But hey Centroid built both so shouldn't they know what's going on. I didn't question it but wired a drive as show using a DC26 2x13 Pins Male Header Breakout Board Terminal Block.

Then I configured the Acorn for it with the CNC12 Wizard.

It didn't move or vibate or hum or anything. when I reconnect the CPU4EJ to the CNC4 MICRO1 DRIVE it runs perfect. HELP I'm dead in the water.

Sorry for the See Pic comment and making you go to the attachments. When I try to insert image this is what I get.

It is suggested the best way is with a Google photo album online. Maybe next time but after all the frustation I didn't have the heart to sign up only to hit 'insert image' this and get this 'Image'. How could I get anything different as it will not know there are pics online. Then what do I do with Image.

The micro1 drive boards do not appear to be turned on in the picture(LED's off).
Did you turn on the box?
