Probe not working in Acorn V5.20 <resolved>
My probe does not work in V5.20. Worked fine in V4.82
All V5.20 wizard settings copied from the V4.82 wizard.
Acorn shows probe tripped when moved manually, (see attachments) but wont invoke the probing routines.
See attachment for error message.
Report also attached.
Thanks
Bernard

Re: Probe not working in Acorn V5.20
You have not set a Probe Detect Input, but P153 =1 Probe Protection On
Since not all Inputs are used, I suggest setting one to Probe Detect and make sure this input is triggered if the Probe or TTO is plugged in.

Re: Probe not working in Acorn V5.20
It is possible to bypass it in case you dont have inputs left. See the beginning PLC file to check with machine param that is.
You'll have to accept risk that come with it ofcourse.

Re: Probe not working in Acorn V5.20
For ATC systems you can use the Probe Protection also based on the Tool Number.

Re: Probe not working in Acorn V5.20
Attached are screenshots of the settings which worked fine in V4.82, but not now in V5.20
No mechanical or wiring was changed. Only the software upgrade (V5.20) was loaded.

Re: Probe not working in Acorn V5.20
Turn off probe protection, or use the Probe Detect Input....
The message is telling you no Detect found, that is because you are not using the Detect input or the probe tool #
Probe Tool# is set to T100 in the wizard, active is T37, so detect based on the Tool# could also not work.

Re: Probe not working in Acorn V5.20
Unfortunately, none of the suggested remedies above have worked. These include:
Probe Wizard changes:
Probe Detection Enabled – NO
Probe Protection based on tool number – NO
Tool change - M6 to designated T100
I’m starting to think there may be a bug in the V5.20 probing routine as probing worked flawlessly in V4.82. (Mill Pro)
Error suggests that the probe has not been detected, yet when I move the probe with my finger, the graphic shows “triggered x 1/slow jog only.”
Once again NO external system changes were made between V4.82 and V5.20

Re: Probe not working in Acorn V5.20
If you set the Detect input it must be tripped if the probe is plugged in. without wiring it will do nothing...
There is no bug in 5.2 probe cycles, otherwise it would not be ok on my mill.
Uwe

Re: Probe not working in Acorn V5.20
See above.
Input is set to input7.
Probe is plugged in.
as above "when I move the probe with my finger, the graphic shows “triggered x 1/slow jog only.” so acorn sees my probe.
