Hi All,
I hope this topic is the correct location, I did a search but came up empty.
I have a few questions.
for you guys that buy machines out of state,
what is the safest way to purchase a used machine? Paypal? Is there a way to put a hold on the money until the machine arrives(in the condition it was left in)
I have only seen videos of the machine. I don't know the seller. Seems like a good guy but there is a decent amount of cash and I'm a bit nervous.
What is a good safe shipping method? I was told maybe Uship?
I don't want this machine showing up in pieces.
Any and all recommendations are appreciated.
Thanks
Karl

Re: Buying used machine in another state
I've bought and sold around 30 machines over the last 15 years. Only a few of them were local. I use PayPal, Credit Card, bank counter check, wire transfer and of course, cash. I have always paid up front and have always required payment in full prior to shipping. Your insurance: buy from a reputable seller or inspect the machine in person.
Most of mine are shipped LTL via a number of carriers, and other than a few scratches, no damage in either direction. In fact I have started shipping control boxes LTL freight as the ride is smoother than parcel delivery.

Re: Buying used machine in another state
Gary,
Thanks for the reply.
I was most concerned of delivery, if the machine was to show up damaged.
The seller is on these forums so not so worried about getting scammed.
He seems like a good guy.
Just better safe then sorry.
Karl
