No need to make a survey.
Centroid Acorn is a step and direction motion controller, using ethernet communication between the PC and the motion controller.
Motion controller has a TRUE encoder input for the spindle offering outstanding single point threading, rigid tapping etc.
The Acorn motion controller also handles all motion control. Windows 10 is the user interface.
Centroid CNC 12 is the software. So, both the software and the hardware come from the same manufacturer.

Further, Centroid core business has ALWAYS supported CNC Machine motion control for well over 30 years.
Software can support Mill, Lathe, Router, Laser and now Plasma. You would be hard pressed to find another manufacturer that can do that with the same hardware and software.

You are using Mach 3, outdated and no longer supported. You really should give Centroid Acorn a try.
Sorry, it is not cheap junk, but it is well supported commercial grade CNC Motion controller.
