Post by guerra_cues »

Hello,
I have a homing switch for my A axis. How do I setup the homing of my rotary axis?

confirm operation of rotary switch with the PLC I/o screen (alt i)

open the Wizard

- define the input that you have the rotary switch wired to as 4th axis Home Ok

- go to the homing menu , select Automatic Homing, double check the homing direction and order

- press write settings to cnc control

Thanks Keith. Once I get off work I will give that a shot and report back. Thanks again for the help.

Hi Keith,
I finally got to follow your instructions. How do I hone the 4th axis?
Is there a manual command?

If you followed Keith's instructions, the homing routine (cncm.hom) will have been created, and the homing command for the 4th axis will be in it. Then upon power up, when instructed to home the machine, it will automatically do it (if you have it set up correctly).

Duh… got it. I was as thinking way too hard. I will look for the file to see the homing command.
Thank you!

The command on the bottom of the file is M26/A and when I type that in MDI and hit run nothing happens.
Sorry for so many questions guys.
I appreciate the help.

Hello,
I tried to home the machine and all axis home fine except for the A axis. A axis does not home.
I have attached a picture of, forgive me for the wood dust…
What am I doing wrong?

There should be a M91/A or M92/A before the M26/A. Post a current report since your last changes to set up the A prox.
