Trak Mill Rebuild

Post by Angelo DiCenso »

Hello Everyone; Help

This is a Trak mill that I have been working on for a while. It's fully functional, very accurate and I am very happy to have chosen Centroid Acorn to be
the controller. I have also done a router (total rebuild AXYZ 4008) with the Centroid Acorn Controller, clearpath motors and all great.
I do have 2 issues with the mill:

a) error during the com_stress_test
b) lower end voltage on the 0-10Vdc to drive the VFD is high (1.7 instead of a max of 1.66)

my two cents worth tells me that the controller could be bad, I replaced the Communication Cable 3 different ones, PC Tuner, Ping in dos mode
went through the remaining windows setup and they work but the "con_stress_test fails.
Regardless of these two issues the Mill works, does not stall or stop.

I have posted some screen shots and pictures of the Mill see link below

https://photos.google.com/album/AF1QipM ... u58CQGDpP0

for the b issue I need the accuracy in order to set up correctly the rigid tapping.
Spindle set up at 3000RPM 1.746, 3.380, 6.68 and 9.98

fyi rigid tapping doesn't rely on programmed spindle speed for its moves.. it relies on the spindle encoder to let cnc12 know the position of the spindle.
so while it is nice to get the VFD calibrated so when you request M3S640 the spindle spins as close to 640 as possible. it completely does not matter if the spindle is actually spinning 620 or 650 etc... the tapping will work just fine.

Are all of the Ethernet cables you've tried shielded?

have you tried adjusting the NIC adapter to 100 full duplex?

does this adapter have intel drivers? are they updated from the mfg website?

b) lower end voltage on the 0-10Vdc to drive the VFD is high (1.7 instead of a max of 1.66)

Spindle set up at 3000RPM 1.746, 3.380, 6.68 and 9.98
