Bought a 25-foot version and will cut it to length. I can solder, but I can't solder 16ga wire into tiny terminal cups. Not like this guy can, anyway. Money well-spent IMO.
A 10 foot cable for $153 ?????? Seriously ??????

I also use Southwire VFD cable and it's awesome stuff. It's around $5 a foot plus or minus a few cents for either the 16/4 or the 14/4. Damn good cable.

I agree, it is expensive. But, the VFD cable is a key part of the system and it's got to be right. I figured with what I was spending in total, having to literally buy everything else except the tools to put everything together, it was a small expense, comparatively speaking and money well spent for some peace of mind that it's done correctly.

I was able to successfully perform the spindle bench test. Ran into a small hiccup where the test program kept erroring that the voltage I was seeing was too low. Told me to check that max spindle speed was not above 3000 rpm.

Turns out the latest CNC12 available, v5.08, installs with a default spindle speed of 18000 rpm. Also, in the Wizard, in the Spindle section, I had to manually turn on PWM control. It doesn't mention any of this in the latest edition of the manual in the spindle bench test section on page 30. After I fixed those two things, the test went flawlessly.

Just making sure I'm reading this correctly. There is a jumper between the P and PR terminals on the VFD, correct? Thanks.

Quick question: For the Spin Forward/Spin Reverse/VFD Reset/VFD Common connections between the VFD and relay board, is it OK to use 22-gauge wire, or I should I step up to 18ga?

I have a 500-foot roll of 22/4 shielded wire that I'd like to use if I can. I have no idea what kind of current/voltage are on those connections, so I'm asking before I melt something. Thanks!

22 is fine for those low amp signal wires

Can anyone confirm whether or not there must be a jumper between P and Pr (labeled P+ and PR on my VFD) as shown in the attached diagram? The VFD manual states those connections are for a braking resistor which I will not be using. Thanks.

I would assume not but it would be super helpful if you'd post a link to your VFD manual so we can give you the best answer possible. Not all Huanyang VFD's are created equal as there are many knockoffs out there.

I don't have a jumper on mine. I read somewhere (may be wrong) that unless you order it from the factory with a resister, that circuitry is not installed.

If you don't have it, here is the manual.
