Spindle Control Issue

Post by Malachilee »

Hi everyone,

I wanted to provide an update on my Dyna Myte 3000 lathe retrofit project. While making progress, I am facing an issue with my new DMM servo and driver setup on the spindle. When I try to control the spindle manually from the VCP spindle speed buttons, I have to turn the RPM up to about 100% for the spindle to turn on. However, it then starts to speed up and causes a spindle fault. I am unsure of what could be causing this issue, but I believe it must be a setting or something because the spindle I replaced with this DMM setup had the same issue.

I have attached my Wizard files, DMM Wiring Diagram, and report. If anyone has any insight into what might be happening here, I would truly appreciate it.

Thanks,
Lee

did anyone every get one of these dyn4's working as a spindle motor?

I know Gary has done it with a Leadshine AC servo successfully
and Uwe did it with JMC AC servo successfully
but i can't remember anyone posting success with this dyn4 as spindle motor?
