Lathe Sauter Turret ATC needs more I/O for control

My 18" Chevallier is making parts under Acorn control now.
However, I am changing the turret position manually.
The Turret software that is built into the CNC12 appears to lack two control features I need.
My turret has a solenoid that drives a locking pin into the rotating part to hold it while the motor reverses to lock the turret position.
The locking pin position is sensed by a prox sensor. This tells the control that the motor can be reversed for locking.
So, I need to add these functions to the existing program that reads the position code and runs the motor CW or CCW.
Before I study diving into the source code, has anyone already done this?
The Sauter type number is: 0.5.480.514 8 positions.

the Centroid Acorn Wizard has pre programmed Lathe Turret setups that can be used as is or customized to fit a turret application that is not supported by any of the typical methods use. an overview of what is included with the Wizard is here.
