You can also try going into device manager and deleting the WMPG under USB devices and then right click on the top of the device tree and select "scan for hardware changes". This lets Windoze re-install the device.

There's a great skit on the Internet - "If Microsoft Built Cars".
Cheers,

That is the issue, it isn't recognized by windows. I'll check again, but windows basically saying there is an unknown device attached.
This is all weird because it was working then stopped.

Yes, delete the unknown device. Unplug the receiver and then plug it back in. Windows should then reload the drivers..

Tom

Some other observations that might help:
  • In the Report you posted for the 15 Jan your CPU has a Single thread benchmark of 1515 which is very close to the minimum required for Mill.
  • Your CPU is used for both Desktop and Laptops - Hope you are not using a laptop as this is not recommended and could easily be the root cause of your problem
  • The error log shows a huge number of MPU resends right up to when the Report.zip was generated.
Suggest you get your CNCPC fully updated before going further and then try again taking a look at the error log etc.

Once done post a new Report.zip
Hope this helps
Nigel

I will try that, Thanks

Nigelo,
No I'm not using a laptop. It is a mini-pc, with a touch screen monitor.
I will updated the CNCPC.

Booted up the PC deleted the unknown, unplugged the transmitter, plugged it back in and it still said unknown device.

Nigelo,
The minimum your seeing is the old PC that ran the CNC mill it was a late 90s Pentium.

Since I don't have a WMPG, I can't help much more but it appears that Windows has somehow forgotten what driver to use perhaps from a Windows update.

You can try clicking update driver on the unknown device, and choosing browse my computer, and then let me pick from a list.

Best would be if you had a driver disk from the manufacturer.
Cheers,

Tom

Yeah that I think is clearly what the issue is. But don't see anywhere you can find a driver to download

No, quite the opposite. I see a Single Thread benchmark 1515 for the last Report in your zip timed at 17:10 on Jan 5 2024 where the CPU is an Intel Celeron N5105 @ 2.00GHz. See link https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cp ... Hz&id=4412

Your previous CPU Intel Pentium 4415U @ 2.30GHz had a single thread rating of 1274

I also note that your report.zip contains no less than 7 report text files going back to May 2019 with CNC12 v4.14 . Did you (or the previous Owner) actually perform a Clean install for your latest CNC12 v5.06 and hand enter Wizard fields without using restore from a previous CNC12 version?
Hope this helps
Nigel
