Cincinnati hawk 150 acromatic 2100 conversion

Post by Ashb82 »

I have a 2000 Cincinnati Hawk 150 lathe in almost perfect shape except we keep having problems with the acromatic controller. This machine came out the engineer department of a college and was never in production and only cut plastic. I’ve seen a few with centroid conversion on them, would anyone happen to have a wiring schematics of the conversion. I have the wiring schematics for my machine but it would make it so easy if someone had centroid schematics.

hello. are you thinking of using acorn on this one?
sounds like a good candidate for Hickory.

I would use what ever you recommended. I’ve done 2 acorn builds. Both were very simple builds. I’m a little lost on the hydraulic chuck, turret and tail stop on this. It has working servos and drivers. I’ve ran across a couple of these build so I know some has a schematic, but getting my hands one I don’t know where I to start.

thanks but we are pretty busy with our own schmatics.

just take things one step at a time.

i'd start with one of the centroid overall system schematics and then modify it by adding the specific connections to the accessories of the hawk.
all turning center overall schmatics are going to be very similar.
X Z motion will be simple
then takle the easy inputs and outputs, coolant, lights, lube pump etc..
and then the turret i/o and funtion
