Acorn6 Pronet E Estun Configuration issues

Post by Philip Venter »

Hi All.

I need a bit of assistance with the ESTUN Pronet E servo driver configuration for the ACORN 6.

Controller: Acorn 6
Software: CNC 12 V 5.06 Lathe
Driver: Pronet-E-08A
Motor: EMJ-08APB22

I've connected everything according to this schematic.

S14966.DWG The Step Direction and Enable wiring is connected to H1 Step direction and Enable ports on Acorn 6.

I've made the adjustments to the servo driver as per tech bulletin bellow:

https://www.centroidcnc.com/dealersuppo ... ds/306.pdf

I'm able to run a bench test and jog the servo motor in the positive and negative direction. In the positive direction the motor runs perfectly smooth.
In the negative direction the motor shudders/stutters and move irregular.

I'm able to manually move the motor forward and reverse using the Fn 0002 function on the Servo Driver

This gets me thinking that my issue is having to do with the reverse signal (Dir) it is receiving from the Acorn 6 controller.
Can anybody share servo driver configuration detail with me or advise me on what to look for in resolving the irregular reverse motion?

Looking forward to your response.

You may have the parameters on the drive configured incorrectly or it may be a wiring issue or something else entirely. Please post a current report from CNC12 and ideally some pictures of your wiring so we have a better idea of what is going on.

I noticed that you used S14966 which is not for Pronet E drives. S14966 says to refer to S14965 for Pronet E drives. The wiring is the same but there seems to be a difference in the recommended values for Pn201 and Pn202. I'm not sure if the electronic gearing settings would necessarily cause that issue but it is a place to look.

Hi Philip,

Don't know if you found out what your problem was, but we had something familiar with our acornsix. Check our story in the link below. Wrong firmware in the Acornsix board was the problem, centroid installed new firmware and all the problems were fixed.

Hope it might help you or others in the future with this problem.

i'll shed more light on this issue. this is an AcornSix only, it only happens with certain drives, and about 50 AcornSix units got out the door with the firmware that has this issue with those certain drives. Tell tale sign is Good motion in one direction but not good in the other direction. Solution is to reflash the AcornSix on board firmware (you need a programmer to do this) so, if you have an AcornSix that needs this rare firmware upgrade we can do a swap out of your unit. contact support@centroidcnc.com for an RMA. Any new AcornSix purchase does not have this issue.
