I must be blind. Couldn't find a description of a "block of Intercon" anywhere. The description of Intercon didn't seem to use this word. What is it? All I know is I will be limited to 20 of them with the basic software package.

Thanks,

Rick

One block of Intercon is one Intercon Operation. For instance a Linear Mill, which includes End, Angle, Length, Connect Radius, and Feedrate. One block of Intercon can end up being many many lines of G-Code once you post it.

Rick,

A block is a line of code. For example the attached Intercon program has 9 blocks. Fortunately, the first block, which is your Header, and the last block, which is the End of Program line, do not count as the limiting blocks of Intercon. When it is said that there is a limit of 20 blocks or lines of your Intercon program, it is actually 22 lines since the Header and End of Program lines do not actually count. Remember that the blocks are for the Intercon, not the G-code program, because 1 block in Intercon could produce hundreds of lines of G-code. For example, this Intercon program created a G-code file that contains 100 lines of actual G-code.

Am I right in assuming that if I generate my G code file else ware, this block limitation won't apply. I understand there is also a limit on the size of G code files.

Thanks,

Rick

Yes, in the Free version, there is a 50K file size limit on all g code programs. This limit applies to both Intercon generated programs and g code generated by hand or other CAM systems.

The $99 Pro version completely removes the limit on the number of blocks in Intercon and increase the g code file to 4MB. The $499 Ultimate version removes the g code limit entirely and includes Digitizing, Probing, Auto Tool measure and many more features.

See here for a complete listing and comparison of all the features in the Free, Pro and Ultimate versions:
